Located in the heart of the Eastern Townships, Manoir Maplewood is one of the most charming wedding venues in the region. With its historic manor, beautiful gardens, and warm atmosphere, it offers the perfect setting for an intimate wedding surrounded by nature, all over the course of a weekend.
As a wedding photographer in the Eastern Townships, I’ve had the opportunity to document several weddings at Manoir Maplewood over the past few years, both in summer and fall. Each season brings its own unique ambiance: from the soft, luminous greenery of summer to the rich, vibrant colors of autumn that are so characteristic of the region.
In this article, I invite you to discover Manoir Maplewood through a selection of images captured during different weddings. It’s a slightly different format from what I usually share, as it brings together moments from three separate celebrations.

Manoir Maplewood: A Unique Wedding Venue in the Eastern Townships
Nestled in Waterloo, in the heart of the Eastern Townships, Manoir Maplewood is a wedding venue known for its elegance and intimate atmosphere. The property beautifully combines the charm of a historic manor with the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, offering an ideal setting for a wedding that feels both refined and welcoming.
As soon as you step inside, your eyes are naturally drawn to the stunning wooden staircase leading to the upper floor. Each room within the manor has its own warm and inviting character, creating an authentic atmosphere where you quickly feel at ease.

The Reception Room at Manoir Maplewood
Inside the manor, the reception is typically held in the main room on the ground floor. With its warm and luminous atmosphere, the space is perfectly suited for both elegant weddings and more festive celebrations.
The reception room can be arranged in different ways depending on the style of the wedding. Some couples choose round tables for a classic and inviting feel, while others prefer long rectangular tables for a more modern and contemporary look.

Round tables or a long banquet-style setup: choose what feels right for your wedding.
Getting Ready at Manoir Maplewood
With its 18 rooms, Manoir Maplewood offers plenty of options for getting ready on the wedding day. Over the many weddings I’ve photographed there, room six has consistently been a favorite among brides.
Bright and spacious, it provides the perfect setting to get ready in a calm and relaxed atmosphere, while enjoying beautiful natural light. It’s simply ideal for creating soft, timeless images.

Why not make the most of other areas of Manoir Maplewood for your getting ready moments? The veranda, filled with natural light, is perfect for creating soft and luminous images.
In contrast, for a more dramatic feel, the manor’s cellar offers a completely different atmosphere. I’ve created photos there with a groom and his groomsmen who were inspired by the mood of The Godfather.
As a wedding photographer, I always adapt to your vision to create images that truly reflect who you are.

From one space to another, light completely transforms the mood of each image.

The Ceremony: Outdoors or Indoors
When the weather allows, most couples choose to hold their wedding ceremony outdoors, in the backyard garden of Manoir Maplewood. Surrounded by nature, it offers a setting that feels both intimate and filled with light.
Of course, the weather can be unpredictable. In case of rain, a beautiful indoor option is available, without compromising the overall atmosphere.
Below, you’ll find different ceremonies held at Manoir Maplewood: in the summer, surrounded by lush greenery; in the fall, with its warm and vibrant colors; as well as an example of an indoor ceremony, set against a gallery wall that adds a lot of character to the space.

Couple and Wedding Party Photos
Having photographed several weddings at Manoir Maplewood, I’ve come to know the different areas of the property and how the light evolves throughout the day.
I’ve already shared a few images taken inside the manor earlier in this article, but here are more that highlight the richness and character of the space.
The interior offers a warm and intimate atmosphere, while the outdoors provide the perfect setting for creating natural and timeless images. The light at the end of the day is especially beautiful, particularly in the fall when the colors of the Eastern Townships are at their peak.

Each space within the manor offers the opportunity to create unique images, depending on the atmosphere you’re drawn to.
Cocktail Hour
The gardens of Manoir Maplewood provide the perfect setting for cocktail hour, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere surrounded by nature. Guests can take this time to mingle, reconnect, and enjoy a pause between the key moments of the day.
When the weather is less cooperative, the front porch becomes a wonderful alternative, offering shelter while still allowing guests to enjoy the charm of the outdoors.

Let the Celebration Begin!
After the cocktail hour, everyone gathers in the reception room to share a meal and enjoy meaningful moments with friends and family. Speeches, laughter, games, and lighthearted moments — everything comes together to create unforgettable memories.

After dinner, the celebration continues in the adjoining room for dancing and festivities. And why not end the day with a photo in front of the illuminated manor, for a moment that feels both simple and magical?

As a wedding photographer, Manoir Maplewood represents so much more than just a wedding venue. It’s a place where couples can truly slow down and experience each moment, surrounded by the people who matter most to them.
Here, the day doesn’t simply end when the evening is over. Couples and their guests extend the experience, enjoy the setting, and create memories that go far beyond a single day.
That’s what makes every wedding at Manoir Maplewood so unique: an intimate, immersive, and truly meaningful celebration.
